down down down in the wasteland tonight

As I reflect back over the day, the BEST thing that I wore today are my horribly warm and somewhat nasty down slippers that I put on once I got home from work.  If I had a full-body suit rather than just these slippers, I would probably become a hermit and the internet would be my only form of communication since I doubt I could hold down a job and still wear it 24 hours a day, becoming known as the “crazy down-jumpsuit lady” at my local grocery store.  And, I think I would be ok with that because I would be surrounded by my own warmth like a real mammal, languishing in heat that only down can bring.
